Spring is nearly here, and phasing in the newest makeup trends is just as important as swapping out your winter wardrobe for the latest spring outfits. We’ve checked out all the spring fashion shows and come up with just a few of the hottest makeup looks you’ll want to try during as the weather begins to warm. The great news – most of these looks are super easy to pull off at home.
Makeup Trend #1 – Bold Red Lips
It’s all about having a standout pout this spring, and the runways were packed with models who had barely there makeup with bold red lips. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, such as Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, and Nicole Kidman, love rocking a bold red lip.
Whether you prefer a matte red look or you like to top the extreme pigment with a wet-look gloss, a red lip will look great with any of the hottest clothing trends this spring. Just remember to keep the rest of your makeup minimal so your lips have a chance to shine.
Makeup Trend #2 – Natural Sun-kissed Skin
According to Marie Claire, instead of heavily contoured cheekbones, this spring there’s a new take on applying bronzer. Instead of heavy contouring, the runways featured models with healthy-looking, sun-kissed skin. The look is natural and instantly gives you a younger, innocent look.
Get the sun-kissed look yourself by swiping a matte bronzer across your nose and the apples of the cheeks. Top with a touch of cream highlighter to get a soft, healthy glow.
Makeup Trend #3 – Going Glossy
This spring, going glossy isn’t just a trend for your lips, according to The Fashion Spot. You can use gloss to make your best features shine, and that includes your lips and your lids. Keep your look light by swiping on just a bit of lip gloss. Make your lids the focus with a bit of glossy eyeshadow.
Makeup Trend #4 – Color Clash
If you usually go with neutral style make-up, one of the fun new looks to try is color clash makeup. Have fun pairing up bold colors like soft lilac eyes and an orange-based red lips or a bold red lip paired with sunflower yellow eyeshadow (Glamour shows off this trend). There are endless combinations, so enjoy coming up with your own combinations to add a splash of color to your spring makeup looks.
Makeup Trend #5 – Pretty Pastel Eyes
Eye makeup in beautiful pastels look fresh and crisp for spring, and they were seen all over the spring runways, Vogue noted.
Pastel eyes have also been popular with celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens in pastel blue eyeshadow and Demi Lovato rocking a pastel lilac shade. Eyeshadow in shades like silver, soft lime, iridescent aqua, pastel pinks, and soft purples are all on-trend for this season.
