East Coast Charm: Our Top 10 Connecticut Fashion Bloggers

Connecticut is a state known for its rich history and charming small towns. It played a major part in the Revolutionary War as one of the original 13 colonies, and it's well-known as the home of Yale University, one of the top schools in the United States. When you think of this area of the country, you probably think of charming brick-lined streets and quaint seaports - a charming destination for a weekend away instead of a fashion capital. However, there are plenty of fashion bloggers out there who are proving that Connecticut style goes beyond preppy, quaint, and nautical. Here are 10 of our favorite Connecticut-based fashion bloggers who are making waves online.

Dianna Baros

Blog: The Budget Babe

Instagram: @budgetbabe

As the name of her blog implies, Dianna is a master at finding fashion-foward pieces at reasonable prices. Trying to look stylish on a budget can be daunting at times, but Dianna shows you her tips and tricks to look great without breaking the bank. She often shares her favorite affordable dupes for popular designer pieces, and also shows off her favorite ways to get celebrity looks for less. Dianna started her career working in media in Chicago, but later moved to Connecticut, where she now lives with her husband and three children. Her blog initially started as a side project, but quickly grew to become a full-time venture. She has been featured in popular magazines and on Connecticut radio as a fashion expert.

Our Favorite Look

This look is effortlessly chic for a day out and about. Flowy floral pants are both comfortable and sophisticated, and they add a bohemian vibe to the outfit. A white t-shirt and classic denim jacket perfectly complement the bolder print of the pants. White Birkenstock-style sandals complete the look. These sandals are not only trendy, but they are also great for those days when you need a little bit of extra comfort. Dianna's circular crossbody bag is very trendy and practical when you need to go hands-free.

She has performed in many musicals as a dancer, and has also appeared in TV shows and music videos. Carolina now travels extensively, splitting her time between the east and west coasts.

Our Favorite Look

Here, Carolina wears a long, bohemian maxi dress, paired with a structured military jacket. The flowiness of the skirt contrasts nicely with the tougher vibe of the jacket in a way that looks very chic. Studded boots complete the look, adding a little bit of glam. This outfit is ideal for spring or fall days when the weather is unpredictable.

Stephanie Trotta

Blog: The Girl Guide

Instagram: @stephanietrotta

Blogger Stephanie Trotta's style is elevated and sophisticated, in a way that combines East Coast preppiness with European glamor. Stephanie's style inspiration is her mother, who is originally from Belgium and passed down to her a love of elegant fashion, sophisticated design, and delicious food. Stephanie grew up in upstate New York and studied political science and international affairs at George Washington University in Washington, DC. However, her love of fashion eventually pulled her towards a more creative line of work, and she moved to Greenwich, CT and began her career as a stylist. Her elegant and effortless style is the perfect source of style inspiration.

Our Favorite Look

It can be difficult to look sophisticated when it's hot outside, but Stephanie has it mastered. Here, she wears a gorgeous lace blouse that is perfectly feminine without being too saccharine. Her beige shorts have an elegant silhouette, with a tie waist and scalloped hem. A straw hat is chic and practical for a day in the sun, and a matching bag enables Stephanie to carry all of her essentials with her. While you can't see Stephanie's shoes in this photo, the outfit would look excellent with sleek sandals, either flat or with a heel.

Our Favorite Look

This beautiful printed maxi dress is perfect for a summer night out. The combination of the blue polka dots with paisley accents at the waist and hem make it look slightly bohemian, but in a way that's very accessible. Since the dress is such a standout piece, Liz keeps the rest of the look simple, with flat sandals and a light woven bag.

MacKenzie Horan started her blog, Design Darling, as a way to document the process of decorating her home. It's since evolved into a lifestyle journal where she shares her chic outfits, decor plans, and her 101 in 1000 challenge, which is where she aims to check off 101 things off her bucket list and to-do list in 1000 days. MacKenzie is originally from Connecticut, but has lived in San Francisco, New York, and Dallas before moving back to start a family. She is expecting a baby boy in September 2019.

Our Favorite Look

Navy is MacKenzie's favorite color, and it's rare to see her in an outfit that doesn't contain navy in some form. We love this outfit for a breezy day out. MacKenzie's gingham dress is flowy and comfortable for her pregnancy, but would be just as cute on someone who wasn't expecting. While the print is preppy, the ruffle at the bottom of the dress adds a hint of girliness. Oversized cat-eye sunglasses and a straw bag are the perfect complement to this chic print.

Chris is a recovered heroin addict, and the clothing line was created to give back to others who are also struggling with addiction.

Our Favorite Look

It's difficult to pick a favorite outfit of Rachel's - her sophisticated style always looks incredible. In this look, Rachel uses a lace kimono to elevate a classic shorts and T-shirt look. Kimonos are a great way to make virtually any look a little bit more exciting. Her gray T-shirt and army green shorts are a classic combo for the summertime, and opting for a pair of shorts with a tie waist is a great way to make your legs look longer and define your curves. Embellished sandals and a straw handbag make the look completely summer appropriate.

Our Favorite Look

Olayinka always finds the cutest dress brands, and this pink and floral dress is anything but demure. In fact, it would be the perfect eye-catching piece for any big night out. This dress has a dramatic full skirt on the bottom and a lingerie-inspired corset bodice on top for a hint of sexiness. Olayinka plays up the sass with edgy cat eye sunglasses, and a circular white handbag adds a mod touch to the look. Pink heeled sandals are a must with a dramatic dress like this one.

With this outfit, Elle shows you how to make culottes appropriate for the office. This cute beige pair is a comfy and fashion-forward alternative to traditional khakis.
